F2026L00927 · Amends the 2017 Approval Principles

Two dates, one register: what the pathology accreditation change actually requires.

The amendments are real, but they are not all in the future. Ten of the eleven items took effect on 13 July 2026. The in-house IVD standard starts on 1 July 2027. This register separates the two and cites every provision.

Free scope and date reading

Which date applies to your laboratory?

The reading branches on your role, your category, whether the laboratory has in-house IVDs and whether it exchanges reports electronically. It never prints a compliance score, and it never gives an in-house IVD answer to a laboratory that has none.

Read your dates

Six answers, computed from the record in your browser. Your answers are not sent or stored.

1. What is your role?
4. Does the laboratory develop or use in-house IVDs, including in-house IVD software?
5. Does the laboratory exchange pathology reports electronically?

Leave blank if not known. The date is used only for the planning reading.

The register

One page for every section and every amending item.

Each page states what the provision does, why it matters, what changed and when, the evidence a NATA assessor samples, the gaps that lose a file and the preparation step. The register is grouped by the instrument's own shape.

The 15 provisions of F2026L00927. The in-house IVD item is the only future one.

Where this comes from

The rules this is built from

Read from the real rules, not invented. Every answer points to the section or item behind it, so you can check any line yourself. The record is built from the 15 provisions of F2026L00927 and the parent 2017 Approval Principles, both read from the Federal Register of Legislation.

  • Read from the real rules
  • 15 provisions in the register
  • 15 held entries in the compliance record
  • Check any line yourself

The instrument is also published in the compliance library at https://compliance.theartofservice.com/frameworks/australia-health-insurance-accredited-pathology-laboratories-approval-amendment-relevant-standards-principles-no-3-2026. That page and this site read the same text; this site adds the evidence and the dates a laboratory needs.

The paid kit

The buyer's register, not a print of the website.

The kit gives you every provision with an owner, a status, a due date and an evidence pointer, plus the evidence sheet, the dated plan and the party map. PDF for the meeting, CSV for the system, XLSX for the register.

USD 799 one off. No account, no subscription. The download is released against a paid Stripe session.

What the free register already gives you

  • All 15 provision pages, cited to the section or item
  • Both dates, stated on every page
  • The free scope and date reading
  • The evidence list, the gaps and the preparation step
  • The party map, the sources and the method
  • The changelog and the dated plan

The kit adds the working register, the owner and date fields, the evidence sheet and the party map in one file. It does not add facts that are not on the free register.

Questions

What buyers ask first.

What does this instrument change?

It removes approvals in principle from the pathology laboratory approval machinery and substitutes two revised accreditation standards: the information, communication and reporting standard from 13 July 2026, and the in-house IVD standard from 1 July 2027.

When does it commence?

Sections 1 to 4 and Schedule 1 Part 1 commenced on 13 July 2026. Schedule 1 Part 2, item 11, commences on 1 July 2027. Most of the instrument is already in force.

Does it apply to a health insurer?

Not directly. The instrument governs the Minister and incorporates the standards NATA assesses. An insurer's leverage is the provider contract and the claims consequence of an accreditation lapse, and the site says so.

Which standard applies to in-house IVD software?

From 1 July 2027, the in-house IVD Sixth Edition 2026 applies to laboratories that develop or use in-house IVDs, including embedded software, software that drives a device and standalone software as a medical device.

What is in the USD 799 kit?

The full obligation register for all 15 provisions, the evidence list a NATA assessor samples, a dated plan and the party map, exported as PDF, CSV and XLSX. One payment, no subscription.

What does the USD 49 a month watch do?

It emails when the instrument text, the compilation, the Explanatory Statement, the standards page or a recorded date changes. The refresh script diffs the official text against the record and the email carries the diff.
